These 2 figures are given by Tait as 6c
knots (among others):-
I suspect Tait
did not know
that this was the
same as p 115

(and of course they might be made to give the
same knot according as the crosses are taken,
or I suppose so.) - the top crossing in A's weaver apart.
But B also gives the Figure of 8 Granny r.k.
and also the Crossed r.k.
Collate these, showing the crossings.
Observe that in A's weaver there is a crossing
outside the knot.
There are 6c in both knots originally. But in
A's weaver one c. is outside the knot. Is
the weaver [therefore] intrinsically a knot of 5c only?
It cannot be drawn without 7, but these are not alternate.
