To make: Take three yards of ^very fine[?]
3-strand cotton thread [(wadged)?], and having
arranged in a tripe coil, cross the ends
and twist them together as shown
on the right in fig 2. With the triple
thread on the left make a ^right handed full loop
and pass the twisted ends through
twice as indicated. Work the knot
compactly together and carefully pull
tight as evenly as possible. Then cut
off the twisted ends close to the knot
