6 Strand Tack Knot
^Double Sprit Sail Sheet Knot-
Other names: Sprit Sail Sheet Knot. (M.)
Note: This figure is absolutely accurate except that the
pendant ends should be a little more to the right- black

so on, the ends hang down from the right of the central top bights.

[Pencilled note] 3 strand rope would generally have hawser lay & take reflection of the knot
To make: Unlay two ends of the 3 strand
rope & put the six strands together
as if they all belonged to the same rope.
Single wall the six against the lay &
pull moderately taut. Crown them & pull
again moderately taut. Crown them & pull
again moderately taut. The detail at this
stage is shown in fig 2. p 166 & the appearance
of the knot in fig 3 p 166. It now remains
to double wall & crown them. To do this
let each part follow that the walling
bight of which it hangs down to the
of. Thus the red end hangs down
to the right of the brown ^walling bight & ^must
made to follow it through the blue bight
