Lastly, take the red end round in the same
direction, under the blue end and through
behind the violet standing part, with the
violet end hanging down to the left of it.
Next take the blue end round above the
red end, under the violet end, and through
behind the red standing part. then take
the violet end round above the blue end
& under the blue standing part. Tighten
carefully by pulling the ends down in line
with the rope while the knot is lightly
grasped lengthwise in the left palm. If de-
sired, seize the ends to the rope.
The plait may be continued to any extent by following
the same principle which is to pass each end in regular
succession over the part to its left & under the next part.
It is easier to continue if a band is put below the knot
to be moved downwards as the knot progresses.
