Seized End.
To make: Whip the rope round under
the bights as in fig 1; then seize the
ends over this as in fig 2. As to modes
of whipping etc. see ...
Uses: For a rope end, to prevent fraying.
Characteristics: This knot ^fastening avoids
the unsightly ends of some of the
more elaborate rope end knots. If
it is wished to make it bigger, this
can be done by double whipping or
padding under the whipping near the
top and leaving off before the level
of the top of the seizing is to be -
