The reverse of the above occurs in the Roman
Pavement discovered at Woodchester (presumably
that in Gloucestershire) I saw the picture of
it in Bear Hotel, Devizes, Wilts, 16.7.1903
( is also frequent in Roman pavements,
the crossings being alternate.)

moving point [ex?] ^moving along the path of any cord ^ part
will proceed uniformly across every other part
successively in turn towards the centre from
the circumference & back again alternately.
