It is sometimes unavoidable to have to
splice the free end of a hawser from the
right. In that case commence as above.
The green strand ^(5) is taken right across and
then the end passed back under the blue
strand ^(3). All the ends are then taken
over and under as in the other form. Thus
the yellow ^6 comes back over the violet 1
& goes down to the right under 3; 4
comes back over 2 & under 1 to the left
of where 6 has passed over 1. So 5 comes
back over 3 and goes down under 2
