(p 171 ^163) and the result will be as fig 3.
^The grommet may be wormed.
The temptation is to make the half
knot incorrectly in commencing and to
lay up the first time with only half
the proper number of twists. A sort
of flabby grommet may be so made,
but it is most unsatisfactory.
Unless old rope is at hand for
making grommets, or three are required
at a time, the process above de-
scribed is wasteful, and the next method
(p 195) is preferable.
