To make: ^Rhumbowline (rumble) and ordinary ^soft rope is ^are often used
for nippers, but sometimes nippers
are made as follows: Take sufficient
rhumbowline ("rumble") or soft rope
or
yarns or foxes to make 8 to 10
yards of nipper (or more or less ac-
cording to the purpose in view), and
having laid them together & stretched
them, put a ring, grommet or
eye of some kind round them which
will just contain them. Fix taut in
a convenient position and marl with
spunyarn or foxes, pushing the ring
