Pull the right hand part of the
left hand loop alternately under
& over the parts to the right
of it and the left hand part of
the right hand loop alternately
over & under the parts to the
left of it ^as indicated in fig. 3. Pull the top of the
central loop up to form a third
bight. (fig 1)
Uses: See i. 79. This resembles
the single Tom Fool except that there
are 3 bights ^bights instead of two.
Characteristics: See remarks on
the Double Jury Knot ^(p 213), which this knot
closely resembles. It will be noticed
that in the D.T.F. the parts a & b comes
out over ^& under two parts in succession (&
b ubder two) while in the D.J. a comes
out with alternate crossings.
