To make: Make a half hitch and
then, taking a above it take it twice
round the standing part b down towards
the half hitch.
Uses & characteristics A variation of
(no 1. g.v. 1. 127.) the Sailor's Knot.
Characteristics: An overhand (knot, or
rather) half hitch + a twofold (knot to
secure it, or rather a twofold) half
hitch. It is practically a Sailor's Knot
with an extra turn for the 2nd 1/2 hitch
