To make: Middle the line a,b between
the 2 eyes and then take both ends
round through the eyes in opposite
directions. When enough round turns
have been put on in this way,
cross the parts at the top (as
shown) or bottom, see that the
turns are evenly strained and then
take a & b round the middle
of the lashing in opposite directions
as before, Thus trapping the round
turns together by means of cross
turns. Tie the ends with a reef
knot.
Uses: To connect eyes with a loose
shackle.
