Twofold Tom Fool's Knot.

To make:
3. [Diagram] Take the cord &
Double back both
ends ^of the cord as in fig 3.
Then with the
doubled parts tie
a twofold knot. Fig 4 shows the
construction, but in practice the
two doubled parts should be evenly laid
round one another. Tighten by pulling the bightsloops a b. The resulting knot will
be as in figs 1 & 2. (Note: in tighten-
ing there is^ may be a considerable amount
of twisting, and one is apt to ex-
pect a bigger knot than fig 1 from
the condition of the stri cord in fig 4.)*
