Note The knot
in fig 7. looks
at first sight
like a twofold
reef knot. On examination it will
be found to be on three cords. ^of which two are linked & twisted. There
is such a 3- cord knot for every
reef knot however manifold. That
corresponding to the ordinary over-
hand reef knot is as shown in
fig 8.
