Called a "Hosiery Knot" (when made by
me) by Whiteley's Hosiery
foreman. shopwalker. But
v. p [Deleted: 76.] 75.M. & 74.M. "Hosiery Knot I." The
above is the way the shopwalker
makes his "H. Knot". [Deleted: But] and
the above process is his method.
The assistant makes his variant
similar ^analogous process of passing an
[Arrow to note at bottom of page] end through two loops, but his
result is undoubtedly as on 75.M.*
Reef 1⁄2 hitches may be used as above instead
of granny [do?] (= clove h) & a very similar knot
