If the cord is to be 1” long, take 19” of string, &
allow more for finishing off. (4 pins)
Crochet cords, watch guards &c.Girls employ the following
method: with the bung and 4 pins
placed close round the to the hole,
(or cotton reel and 4 rivets) proceed
thus:- Pass one end of the string
(wool etc.) down the hole from
above. This is the short end. Then
start looping over the pins a in fig 1:- ^(Throughout keep the loops loose).
Having proceeded so,
far ^take b between pins 1 & 2 and, make ^another round of loop ^on 1 of
the same kind as
those
^(as on pins 2, 3
& 4.) on each pin,
Then taking ^starting atpin 4
& lift the lower
loop outside, up, and over the top loop
last made & right off the pin.^(fig 2).
Fig 2 shows a ^the loop lifted, but still on the 4th pin.
Do the same with ^1, 2 & 3.each pin in successionThere will then be left one loop on
and so continue. Keep the loops
each pin. Make another set of
loose by puling them as made to the outer edge
loops. Again lift the lower loops
of bung. p158
