Extract from "North American Review" Vol 176. (no
5) p691. (15 May 1903. New York. ) art. "The
Modern School of Nature Study" by W. J. Long.
On p 654, as it would be if numbered,
is this note : "W. J. Long is a clergyman
in the Congregational Church. He graduated
from the State Normal School at Bridge-
water, Massachusetts, in 1887 ; from the
Harvard University in 1892; & from An-
dover Theological Seminary in 1895. He
has contributed various poems, stories
& articles to a number of periodicals,
& has written several popular
works on the ways of wild animals,
among which may be mentioned "Ways
of Wood Folk", "Wilderness Ways", Beasts
of the Field", "Fowls of the Air", & "School
of the Woods".

watched 2 orioles building their nest.
