the twine carried up in front of behind the
mesh-pin & through the bight of
slack twine (fig 5), which is then tightened
and the first loop is made (fig 6.). With-
out withdrawing the pin from
the loop, the 3 other loops are
cast on & made round the pin
in the same way (fig 7.). So far all
that has been done is to attach
4 loops of equal size by a series
of lark's head knots to the foun-
dation cord. Any other form of
knot which will come undone
when the foundation cord is
withdrawn may be used instead.
Netting.* Now pull the mesh-pin out of
the 4 loops and turn them and
the foundation cord round so that
the loose twine hangs on the left
of the row of loops^(fig 8.). Holding the
