the thumb; then^relax the thumb pressure, & pull the loose knot
towards the upper edge of the pin,
and as the loop tightens on the 4th
finger, slip it; & cease slipping with
the thumb
pull the knot true
against the upper edge of the pin,
& tighten.
Repeat the process with the next
loop, and so on until all are done.
Then pull out the pin, turn the
line of meshes round, & commence
again from the left, when the position
will be as in fig 1. p1. And so on.
In netting a row of many
meshes, those on the left of the
pin can be slipped off from
time to time to make room
for the fresh ones.
When the needle is nearly empty,
and there is not enough twine
to give free play, ^ discard the needle & use the fingers; when this grows difficult, cut the twine
about 3” from the last knot made,
