now necessary to knot it onto a’
(fig 10 11. p15 17) All the knots on the
right are made as at a’, the
method being this:-
Bring the slack taut from
the hook & nip it against a’ with
the thumb & fingers of the left
hand; n pass the needle under
the mesh edge just ^ above a’ and to the
left over the twine brought down
(fig 11) and pull it till it is taut
against a’, the thumb still
keeping all in position against
the forefinger. Now throw a
bight over to the left, and
pass the needle again under
both strands nipped together and
up through the bight. ^ (fig 12.) Tighten the
knot without relaxing the pull
pressure of the thumb.
