2nd stitch, [inclusive bracket] 2nd row , 1st knitted row & all others (except 1st
stitches if chain edge is wanted.)
see Fig 7 showing slipped (chain edge) stitch
on R.H. needle & this needle passed
through 2nd stitch on L.H.do. Knit
the slack through as fig 8. Then
separate the needles
as fig 9. taking
off the stitch ^ with
onto the R.H. needle
and simultaneously slipping the
stitch on the L.H. needle off the
latter as fig 9. Slack always on off side.
Proceed in precisely the same
way for every stitch. (cf fig 10.)
Casting off - ^ 1st method: (cf. p. 108) Knit 2 stitches together,
giving 1 on R.H. Needle. Slip this stitch
back onto L.H.N. &
treat as consider it
an ordinary stitch. Go on knitting 2
& slipping back 1 till all are finished.
[illegible], hook all the loops of the last row into a
chain, beginning at the end away from the slack.
